Thomas E. White is SunCoke Energy’s Vice President of Commercial Operations. Mr. White joined SunCoke Energy in January of 2011. In his role, Mr. White is tasked with leading a highly collaborative team to serve and maintain SunCoke’s Energy's strong customer relationships built upon mutual trust and respect.
Mr. White has spent his entire career in the steel industry and has extensive experience in sales, global sourcing, strategy deployment and product and marketing management. He joined SunCoke Energy from Tata Steel International (formerly Corus International Americas) where he was most recently vice president – Strategic Marketing & Procurement. Mr. White also spent time as a general manager for Alro Steel Corporation, one of the largest metals distributors and processors in the U.S. and held positions of general sales manager and special products manager for Birmingham Steel Corporation and U.S. Steel Supply, a Division of US Steel Corporation, respectively.
Mr. White holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia and an MBA in International Business from Benedictine University in Chicago, Illinios. Mr. White is also a member of the Association for Iron and Steel Technology.
